From Principal Waters

Dear Tremont Families:

Last night’s PTO-sponsored No More Excuses! was a great opportunity for our students, parents, and the community to participate in fun events and learn more about opportunities on MDI to be physically active. From line dancing, to an obstacle course, to adopting whales, Acadia National Park and many more, we appreciate the great volunteers who made this event possible.

Tennis pro Bob Christie has been working with our students to introduce them to the great lifelong game of tennis. Today he finished his work here with grades four and five; he worked with other classes earlier in the month.

Our Jazz Band will participate in the State Jazz Festival tomorrow, Saturday, March 20 at Nokomis High School in Newport. Our students certainly performed well at the district festival, and we know they will “rock” this weekend!

We will be starting after-school game activities for students in grades K-3 and 4-8. You’ll be getting more information early next week, but be prepared for running and kickball fun!

We have scheduled our kindergarten screening for Friday, March 26. Parents who have children who turn five by October 15 should call the school to arrange an appointment time.

Have a great weekend!

Dianne Waters
